Korean Natural Farming (KNF) Fertilizer

Feel free to use this thread to post anything related to KNF. This is my first attempt at making a liquid fertilizer. With the help of “Garden Like A Viking” on YouTube I was able to get started. I closely followed his instructions in the video posted below. The only thing I’m doing different is adding fruit to the mix.

The ingredients list:
3 1/2lb Fish
3 1/2lb Pineapple
9lb Turbinado Sugar (cane)
1 cup compost
1 7gallon bucket.

Everything is layered in the bucket like a lasagna.
First layer is a bed of sugar 1 inch thick. There is 2 layers of fish and 2 layers of pineapple with sugar covering each layer. The top layer should be 2-3 inches of sugar to cap it all off. Finally sprinkle the cup of compost/leaf mold over the top layer. There is small vent hole drilled on the side of bucket with a pipe cleaner shoved in to keep ants out. I’m excited to see where this goes. I’ll keep you guys posted as it starts to ferment. If anyone has done this please share your experience.

Uuuu, that is something I needed to see.

I am curious how would it effect the pepper grow all throught the season, would it make them fruit like hell or is it more rich in nitrogen. He said in the video that it's amazing for the start and for leafy greens so I can imagine the plants would look amazing but yields would not be as big?

I wanna do some fish liquid fertilizer this year and need to gather some Intelligence. I guess I am almost late to start tho ;o

That's a good question. My guess would be that it depends on what is being used in the ferment. Look up Fermented plant juice and you'll learn more about this method.

I don't think so, some people can start using the fertilizer in just a couple weeks. Just depends on the temps, the bacteria, the amount of sugar etc...

This is another video that I found helpful

KNF method is slightly different than what people do to make Hydrolyzed fish fertilizer but the results are similar to my understanding.
