Korean Pepper---Eumseong Cheonggyeol

Next year I want to make Kim Chi. So, first of all, I need to grow the correct pepper variety. This sounds like the real thing:

Has anyone got seeds for this one I can buy, SASBE, or trade for?

Thanks!
You may want to go to the local oriental market and get a bag of their crushed pepper flakes. That's what the koreans here use. Then take some of the seeds out and see if you can get them to germinate.

Well that's the problem, and the great thing about Korean chili flakes, they don't have seeds in them

Taeyang Gochu is the variety you want, I believe.

I managed to get some seeds sent from Korea but they did not germinate :/

Edit: The peppers in that link look identical to them, to my eyes.

I had the same thought to check out the local Korean market. For me that's HMart (www.hmart.com).

I knew that they sold packets of vegetable seeds but I wasn't sure if they would be the exact peppers you mentioned
in the original post.

They had these and I'm told they are used for Kim Chi. If you want them, send me a PM and I'll put them in the mail.

Note: the packet with the picture has the phrase "wa mae wo f1"
