KReigle 2010 grow log

Planted my seeds on Feb 6. I just have a 25 cell Burpee peat tray with coir pellets. The tray sat in our oven with the pilot light keeping it about 80 degrees.

Seeds planted:
4 - Barrackpore 7pot
4 - Bhut Jolokia from last year's chiliseeds.UK seeds
4 - Naga Morich (edit) from last year's chiliseeds.UK seeds
4 - Red Habenero from last year's chiliseeds.UK seeds
6 - Fatalii from last year's chiliseeds.UK seeds
8 - Naga Morich (edit) from my Nagaseeds plants
4 - Orange Habenero from last year's plants
4 - Jalapeno
4 - Serrano

Today, I moved some them out of the oven and under a growlight. I have sprouts from the following seeds so far:
3 - Red Habenero
2 - Bhut
2 - Serrano
2 - Nagas

Everything looks great. I hope you have a great season. Can't blame for for getting out of the peat pots. They seem to suck the life out of the plants IMO. Some people have success with them, but not me.

Good Luck!

Thanks. I don't think I'm ever going to use those peat pots again. Last year they all dried out to quickly and killed most of my plants, and this year when I tried to keep up on watering them, they turned all fuzzy and hairy. I now have a 72 cell plastic tray and the 3-inch pots, so I will just re-use them from now on.

I've received a packet of seeds from Dave's Dragon Dust - "Bhut Jolokia, Scorpion, 7 Pot, Naga Morich + 4 Others!!", containing supposedly chocolate and yellow bhuts.

I have 2 seeds each of Dave's Bhut, Yellow Bhut, Chocolate Bhut and Trinidad Scorpion in damp paper towel on the germination heat mat I have on the grow shelf. It'll be interesting to see what I get from these.

With all these little ones going, I really don't know where I am going to put them all when they go outside.

Moved these into cups from a 72-cell tray last weekend. The scorpions sprouted, but the roots of 2 were black and wilted (too damp?) and still nothing from the Bhuts so I put in a couple fresh seeds into each cup with them.

The Douglah finally showed up a couple days ago. I hope this years grow season is long enough to get some seeds from it.

During last nights watering, I gently checked the scorpions and the two with black roots were dead and the third is slowly growing up through the coir. Not sure if I killed the Bhut seeds or not, if they don't come up soon I don't think I'll have time for them to produce.

Took more pics to post, will try to get them up in the next couple days.

Here are the latest pics. I moved the lights up for the pics, usually they are almost touching the plants. Last week I got some Rhizotonic and have been spraying 1-2 times per day with Rhizotonic/Spray-N-Grow mix and watering with Alaska sprayable fish-based fertilizer.

Larger plants, arranged on one end so I can tilt the lights:
