So launched CSA and will also have on farm farm stand this year. Sort of like my own farmers market. Probably have other vendors in exchange for time watching the thing. Looking for advice on what a CSA should include and what you think a store in the middle of no where should have / look like to get people to actually visit.
Oh and the farm stand prices on produce is going to be "Take what you need. Leave what you can". We are focused on peppers for the income and hippie dippy enough to think folk will be honest with the general produce prices. So far we have been selling shares even though we openly tell folk the name your price thing will also be going on. So maybe it will work out. Kind of been dreaming of doing this for some time.
Need advice in two areas:
1- What should be in a general CSA share?
2 - What should be in a camping version of a CSA? For the first seven weeks, we are delivering to the Kentucky Renaissance Fair on Saturdays. Most of those shares are purchased by event participants who are camping. So far, thinking potato and onion are good for camping. What else?
