Lawn mowers, sweepers and critters...

Weird day.  First was using push mower under tree.  When empty the bag, found a tiny little black snake.  It was alive and unharmed.  Then after using riding mower, went over it with sweeper that rides behind.  Found another snake, a mouse, and a toad in the thing when done.  All were fine except the toad had this look like, what the hell was that?  Oh but wait, I went back to mowing and had to stop to move a turtle.

I come inside for a break, and the kittens (anyone want one) were playing with yet another snake.  Now that one was quite dead.

No clue why the front yard fills with critters on key days.  Think the lawn sweeper I got could be the production end of a pet store.

Nothing dangerous but it taught me not to reach into a lawn mower bag without looking.  We do have copper heads, but they dont seem to like our property.

Scoville, cougar no but have seen some weird and often scary critters.  Shortly after moving here, friends visited from MI.  On their drive home, they texted us claiming they almost ran over a wild boar further down our street.  We said BS.  They sent a picture.  Seems someone imported them for one of those fenced in hunting places.  When the business failed, they were released.  Twenty some years later, it is clear there were enough to establish a breeding population.  Now people boar hunt in KY.
