What is the cause of these wierd dried edges and marks?
Also can anyone identify the plant yet?

looks like a typical sunburn to me

+1 Looks like where liquid has hung on to the leaves and magnified the sun's rays causing it to burn. I had this happen many times in the hardening process and once even after they had been hardened off where it had rained really hard in the morning but was sunny and hot in the afternoon.

Hard to tell what the plant is without seeing the whole thing, but the leaves look like ExpEmber, as Fernando said. If it's a larger plant it could be Bolivian Rainbow or Black Pearl. +1 on the sunburn.
