Leaf issues

Hey guys,

I just spotted these brown spots on one of my baccatum plants. Any clue as to what it could be? I assume it's not looking very good..

There are a few others with the same issue.

Hey, Bernd. After looking at lots of images,
I have the feeling it is a fungal spot rather
than a bacterial spot due to the fact the spots
do not vary in color from the center to the edge.

If you are looking to try something, I might
suggest cutting off the infected leaves, and
spraying the plant with Safer Garden Fungicide
or something similar.

These types of things are hard to pin down.

Another idea is to take /send a few leaves to
your local Agricultural Dept. and see if they
can id the problem for you.

Good luck getting a handle on this.

Thanks Paul! I'll try what you've said, though I'm not allowed to use non-biological fungicides at the allotment. Maybe I'll spray a little when nobody's looking though, lol. I'm gonna cut away all affected parts. I probably should avoid getting the plant wet as well.

I'm not sure what you mean with agricultural department though. Is that some governmental thing over there? I don't think we have that here, or at least I've never heard of it.

Here we have a brand called 'Safer' that is OMRI listed,
meaning it's approved for organic use.

Agricultural extension services are usually run in relation
to the Ag Universities and/or the various counties
in a state. It's a common thing here, especially in areas
with farming and ranching. There might be something
similar there. It is a government program.

I noticed one of the flower buds in the pic also
had a brown spot on it. It may just be a moisture/
watering issue.
