Leaves curling on healthy brazilian starfish plant?

This is my brazilian starfish plant and as you can see, the leaves are perfectly green and healthy. The leaves are curling in though, and I don't know why. This guy is growing inside under a bright T5 light for like 14 hours a day every day with a heat pad under it and a fan blowing all day. Of course the soil dries pretty quickly so I end up watering about every two days. It can't be overwatered because the leaves aren't yellow and the tips aren't fried! What gives? Or is it just my plant being quirky :) all my other guys are doing great!

I found my starfish plants to be very different from all
My others .. It loves getting watered as it seems to have a smaller root system. They stretch heaps!! And I didn't initially but I recommend you top the plant early on. The leaves seem to naturally be in a curlier state over other plants..

My non topped plants grew to about 3-4 feet tall in tiny pots and put on heaps of pods that had branches sagging to the ground . I had to plant them into large pots just to give them a heavy base ..

I would top them and put in supports sooner then later to be ready to tie them up.. You will need more than just stem support to , the branches will need to be tied up..

That being said the branches are very flexible and don't break purely from pod weight , they just bend and sag a lot ..
I ended up putting two plants per pot with a support in the middle as they don't get thick and full and stay spindly and they counter balance each other ..

Getting back to those leaves though it's nothing... And for some reason the water always drained through my Brazilians pots faster and dried quicker so I watered it more often and it liked it..

I believe you could/should eliminate heat mat.

Why?

I just did, I just want to know why. The purpose of the heat pad is to create a warm environment for my peppers

what the temperature in the room with the heat mat turned off ?

I don't know. Don't have a thermometer in there. I'd say slightly less warmer than room temperature.

What is your typical room temp? If it is in the 70s and you have the pad on there, it could be excessive. All my plants are happy between the 70-76 range. Plus you'll save $$ on electricity!

I'd have the pad on if it was a lot lower , but at that heat the roots will just get steamed.. I dare say that the pad is having minimal effect at that size of plant with that ambient tempreture..
