health Little black dots on the pod

Hi Folks,
I have a Fuego pod here with little black dots on it. Anybody recognise the problem? I have had about 6 or 7 other chilies from the plant, and they were all OK. This one has split, so it may just be over ripe, but I don't want to take a chance without checking. Apart from some discolouration around where it split, I don't see anything obviously wrong with the inside.

I don't know about the spots either, but I think @CaneDog might be on to something re it being fungal.

Now, I don't know if the pod in the last pic that's split open is one of the pods in the previous pics, but it looks like a critter might be in there. If you blow it up, the "green" circle looks like an entrance path, and the "black" circle looks like the little green critter himself.

Of course, I might be seeing things, lol.

@CaneDog - That was roughly the lines along which I was thinking 😉.

@Downriver - Good eyes, bud, and it's all the same pod. Here are close ups of the areas in question, and it definitely looks kinda suspicious, although they aren't at the same part of the pepper. Guess I'll never know for sure, since I cut the innards out for a better look, then dumped the whole thing. 'Fraid I have no intention of raking the rubbish in the name of science. You'd never guess I have the same nationality as Alexander Fleming 😅
