Kick those Knats in the Nats.

I know nothing about them , but maybe it was in the soil that you got from bunnings , iv seen all kinds of nastys on plants from bunnings and will never buy plants from them again.

Show us ya nats. pic maybe ?

Yeah I think it's fungus gnat larvae, I've got it in most potting mixes. Had heaps of seeds eaten last year and this year. Main reason why I germinate in coco coir these days.
That being said, might only be bad seeds that get eaten by them, ie plenty of seeds germinated even with the fungus gnat present, plenty of seeds rotted away in coir and turned to slime anyway with no larvae around...
edit:
But, lots of nasties around in potting mix, just waiting for you to make it all warm and nice to hatch. So to answer your question either bake the potting mix or dose it with hydrogen peroxide or some other sterilizing agent, or just use a compressed dry coir brick.

Dunno where the hell they come from, but Hypoaspis miles always rocks up and takes care of my gnat larvae (nom nom nom).... so don't have to do a bloody thing! :D

If its fungus gnats cant you just spread the soil out on some canvas or something (maybe a 4x8 plywood etc... and let it dry thouroughly in the sun?
That should get rid of them. Just be sure to wait a few days before returning the soil to the pots / bags so the adults don't lay eggs and start the cycle all over again.
I think they need moist soil to survive.

you can also use BT(mosquito dunks) soak in water for 24-36 hours and drench soil the larve eat the BT and they die its a natural bacteria(BT) so its harmless to plants or us.
