what a beautiful critter, we don't get critters like that around here but if i did, i certainly would pay full attention to them. the best i get here are........Ladybugs!

[background=rgb(255, 244, 228)]Its a brown anole[/background]

Oh, well I guess we do have those here. I've never seen one with that diamond pattern down the back. Mine is a baby green anole, there are at least a dozen living in the yard.

the one in pepper whisperer's pics is a green anole... i used to breed them to feed to my finicky snakes...

cool animals that change color based on it's surroundings... kinda like a chameleon...

great pics...

and i'm hating... all i get are blue belly lizards, and vicious alligator lizards...

Brown Anoles came here from the Bahamas little by little they are pushing the native Green Anoles(I haven't seen a Green in 5 years) out. We have a Knight Anole here that came from Cuba which can grow up to 20 inches long and their head looks like a T-Rex. They eat anything that moves andthey can fit in their mouths, bird eggs, Figs, small mammals etc.The stats are crap I caught Cuban Anoles in Broward County as early as 1997 I spotted one in 1996, I caught one in Palm Beach County
In 2000 over 10 years ago 30 miles north of the Palm Beach Broward Line. I had several in cages they loved Pinkies and Fuzzy mice. http://myfwc.com/wildlifehabitats/nonnatives/reptiles/knight-anole/

Browns show that pattern all the time Greens don't but they do change their color to almost brown at times.
