wanted Looking for nightshade seeds from US sources.

Inedible ones in particular, can be ornamental or wild, I mostly have pepper seeds for trade, but I can also harvest some wild S. carolinense seeds for you.

looking for

Brugmansia suaveolens
Mandragora officinarum
Solanum nigrum
Solanum virginianum
Solanum pseudocapsicum
Physalis alkekengi
Hyoscyamus niger
Scopolia carniolica

or any other ornamental/wild nightshades

Please be careful if you're harvesting from a wild source.  I will be growing these in isolation in containers to prevent any naturalization and accidental poisonings.  Also please be sure to check your state laws to make sure it's not illegal for you to cultivate them.  All of these are legal federally and in my state, but they may not be legal in yours.

EDIT: I also finally located a Datura stramonium that is rather small but I will get seeds from it as soon as I can.  Those are illegal in Canada and Connecticut.

i had some giant angle trumpet seeds a while back... freebees from some some website.

lol, only seeds ive ever had that i could not germinate...

do not eat.

Dude check um... Richter's Herbs and seeds.

They have those 3. They had the mandrake but its discontinued. The angels trumpet they have 3 diff colors. And I think I only saw one they wouldnt ship to a state and it was Nevada or something.

Excellent, thanks.  I was mostly hoping for US sources but this might do the trick.  I may have to order the mandrake seeds from Israel and they're rather pricey like that.

I know of a site for Solanum xanti. That`s the San Diego Mountain Nightshade. I hope to collect seeds soon, so I`ll let you know when I do. Here is what it looks like. The flowers are over 1" across.

Yes of course I'm interested!  I think I may ask you about this in a few months.  Beautiful plant.

I was meaning to get back to you on that list you gave me there were definitely quite a few that caught my attention, I wouldn't mind getting some from a few different sources to see the differences.  I'll keep in touch.

I have ordered seeds for the mandrake (5 seeds for 5 bucks!)

also for henbane and the black nightshade which should actually be hundreds of seeds in each pack of these so I will have some to distribute if anyone else has any interest in growing a nightshade garden I will have those seeds available for trade some time next week.

I've gotten most of what I've been looking for, in fact I'm almost done cold stratifying a bunch of them and will be getting them in the dirt this week

Datura stramonium
Datura inoxia
Solanum nigrum
Solanum pseudocapsicum
Solanum carolinense
Solanum dulcamara

What's the word on the S. xanti, Nigel?

Funny you should ask, I drove out 3 hours up into the mountains to go collecting yesterday. And found this,

Oh no!  Wildfires I'm assuming?  There's another forum I frequent where I may be able to get ahold of some xanti seeds if I ask the right people.  If I can get some would you be interested in them?  I still have interest in those space chilis too :)

Yep, wildfires accounted for a couple of hundred acres. It was the only place I knew of for S.xanti, but I`ll find more in time. If you can find seeds elsewhere, that would be perfect!!! No worries on he Space Pepper seeds.

i have tons of Solanum carolinense in my gardens. Its extremely invasive and damn near impossible to kill because it grows off a taproot about 2' down.

haha yeah they're quite a prolific weed, it's even illegal to cultivate them in a few states because of this.  They are serious bug magnets, I have one in the back next to some of my peppers that had 3 hornworms on it but not a single one on the peppers!  D. Stramonium is a serious bug magnet too and also deters deer because they stink and are supposed to be somewhat of a skin irritant (I don't have this issue for some reason)
