or any other brightly colored fruits
Seeds or plants will work.

Why wouldn't it be an ornamental. I say any plant you grow for looks is an ornamental, especially compact varieties.

Sweet but not overtly sweet. I used to pop em like potato chips.

I though what defined an ornamental was the lack of any real decernable taste.....

Try royal black, Purira or poinsettia, or maybe AJ's little elf

I just picked a red ripe pod (let it dry on the plant) from one of my Purple Tiger plants...fruits are purple and smallish and have not tasted them yet, but the plants are stunning...(to me anyway)...here is a link to a thread where there are photos...if you are interested, PM me your mailing addy and I will send you the pod and seeds...
