Lowering PH with Cow Manure.

Hi All,

I had to make my own potting mix because there isn't any decent commercial potting mixes available here in Thailand.

Here's my mix, from what I could source.

2 parts compost
2 parts coco coir
2 parts rice hulls (no perlite available)
1/4 part worm castings
1/4 fruit bat guano
1/4 part organic ferts made from Sugar Cane

I have 5 week old peppers growing in this already and they all seem to be doing fine, but I bought a PH meter yesterday. The PH of my mix is 7.8 due to a high PH in the compost I can buy. I was just reading on another thread that Cow Manure can be used to bring the PH down (thanks Jungle Rain).
I was wondering is it possible to use too much organic ferts with peppers? Or can I just go ahead and add enough cow manure to bring the PH down?

I have 10 gallons of the mix already made that needs to be amended.

Your at 6 and 3/4 i don't know what your makin... JK

At 6 and 3/4???

One part equals a measure, let's say one litre. So two litres of compost, two litres of coir, two litres of rice hulls, 500 ml of worm castings and so on. A rough calculation is 29.62%, 29.62%, 29.62%, 3.7%, 3.7%, 3.7%. Hope this clears any confusion.

Thanks I'll take a look.

Just don't buy it in Germany, apparently it has E Coli! :)

I'm pretty sure that the missing ingredient is love. I have all my chilli products made with love.
No missing ingredient, they're being loved and over pampered :)
