Lucky Dog Hot Sauce Recipe Contest!

Announcing the Lucky Dog Hot Sauce recipe contest!

The winner will receive an 8-pack of Lucky Dog Hot Sauce, including 2 pre-release bottles of the new Día Del Perro! Seriously?!? Yes, seriously!

The rules are simple:
Create a recipe, using any of the 6 original flavors of Lucky Dog Hot Sauce. Prepare the dish and photograph the results. Remember that on the web aesthetics count, so bust out your best food-porn skills!

Post your picture and recipe, including detailed cooking instructions on the facebook Lucky Dog Hot Sauce page *(and ONLY on the Lucky Dog Hot Sauce page) to the pinned topic for the cooking contest. This is critical, as all entries must be in the same thread.

Entries will be taken from right now this minute through Friday, June 20th, 2014 at 11:59 PM PT.

After that there will be a voting period ending on Wednesday, June 25th at 11:59 PM PT (note: people will be able to "like" your entry at any time after you've posted it, this is just an extra window to allow for late entries to get some love)

The winner will then be determined by 2 factors: 1. the number of "likes" of your entry. 2. The top 5 most "liked" entries will then be submitted to a panel for judging to determining the overall winner. The top 10 recipes will be posted to the Lucky Dog Hot Sauce recipe page, with full credit to the chefs/authors of them.

I tried to build in enough time so that if you have a chef friend who doesn't yet have any Lucky Dog Hot Sauce, they'll have time to pick up/order a bottle. So tell a foodie friend! Tell 2 friends! Or just try to win it for yourself. Go!

Note: This is the *only* opportunity to get Día Del Perro sauce before the Kickstarter campaign located at http://tinyurl.com/diadelperro

Ps - I realize some here are not on FB. Unfortunately I needed a central point for people to post entries, that reached my core audience and with a built in voting feature and FB filled all of those requirements. While I will be doing some THP-specific promotion in the future, for this one it's Facebook only. My apologies for the inconvenience.

3 judges already on board:
1. Andrea, Local chef/caterer who's also a bigtime Lucky Dog fan
2. My lovely and talented Festival assistant (and a hell of a cook herself) Sity
3. The one, the only, the legendary Al "Buddah" of iloveitspicy.com

Working on getting a couple more chefs in the mix, and I will also be casting a vote.

Each judge is instructed to review the recipe and technique, and view the photo, then assign points to each of the top 5 "liked" entries, 5 for best, 1 for worst. Best score wins!

We've got some cooking fools here at THP and many have Lucky Dog on hand - I hope to see some entries besides just Joyner's!   Plenty of time until the deadline  - if you need LDHS you should be able to order it Monday and get it in time to post up an entry.  Use the coupon code "reddit" to save 10%!

Good luck everyone!

You'd have to somehow hack my safe. I don't keep recipes on my PC.

lol

No, enter the contest, win some sauce!

I also included a classic dog/horseshoe men's shirt or women's tank top to the prize.

So get cookin - Friday is the deadline to enter!

On a personal level, yes. I barely use FB. I post fart jokes occasionally, and occasionally my friends post fart jokes at me.

for business it does help and provides a good means of communicating with a large audience.

But the meme is correct.

(also, thanks for your pledge Westin! )
