I wonder if it would help if you collected them, put them in a blender and then mix that back in the soil..
 
I'd keep it simple. DROP THE ELBOW ON THOSE LITTLE BASTARDS!!! stomp on'm. And leave their corpses on the dirt, the root e and feed your plants.
