Making Preserved Lemons

Not sure about Meyers, but a friend of mine grew some Italian lemons (I don`t remember the type) from seed here in SoCal. He got his first fruit in roughly 4 years, but it was 6-7 before he got multiple fruits. He grew Calamondins as well and got multiple fruits in 3-4 years. I expect they would do quite well in this recipe, too.
