That's awesome. I don't know what it is about seedlings that is so exciting, but they are. I now have a bunch more that have sprouted. I even decided to buy a few more seeds from THSC, just what I need, more plants....

Anyways with all the recent talk about the paper lanterns made me decide to check out mine. I found it had set this pod

Here is a picture of my unknown Fresno. This was started from the peppermania seed mix back in mid July / August time frame. I believe it is a Fresno. Anyways I collected some seeds from this plant and you can see the seedlings in my previous post. It is currently setting it's second round of pods, you can see a few of the pods in the pic. Pic was taken right after it's bath, had to spray it down with water because it had some spider mites and some thrips. They have not been totally eradicated yet, but their numbers are dwindling.

Ok, time for an update. This is a good example showing that you don't need a fancy setup to start and grow peppers. These are all being grown in Miracle Grow potting soil, no heat pad, no dome, no fan, just 2 400w metal halide lights. Don't get me wrong, I believe that better soils, heat pads ect are very benificial and actually help grow better plants faster, but I also want to show that people can get good results with less.

1st pic is my latest tray of seedlings, germination is between 80-100%

The big problem is where am I going to put all these things, I'm running out of space.

The red hab in the background is over 4' tall now (over 5' with the pot)

The plants are looking a little rougher as the thrips have been having a field day with them. This over winter project has been going quite well. I expect them to have no trouble making it the last 2-3 months before they can start going outside. That is just as long as the pests stay under control.

It's like 750 sq ft, but I'm confined to just one corner, which is about a 8x15 area, give or take a couple of feet as I've never really measured it before. Regardless I only have so much room under the lights. I've already started more plants then I planned, this could really get interesting, especially with how much the other ones have grown since I started using the pure blend pro grow.

Yeah i am addicted to planting peppers too Matt. I have way more plants than I am going to be able to use, so I think I will cherry pick my favorites/best plants and take the rest to the farmers market and give some away to coworkers. I actually started 12 more Habanero plants today, why I really dont know, maybe from winter boredom. LOL Plants look great, you are going to have more peppers than you can eat this season.

Everything looks great Matt! But look at the bright side, you are running out of room because you are growing great plants.

All the Chinese were planted 1/14/10 with replants of Jam. Hot Choc, Fatalii, Scotch Bonnet on 2/17/10. The Ajis and Annums are sprouting just fine. The Chinese seem to be having a difficult time getting started. Conditions are equal for all. I understand that they can be difficult to get started but I getting to be a little concerned.
