Hi everyone,
I am Max and I grow Hot peppers for fun, I am based at north east Italy (Friuli), this year I started early because I wanted to do multiple harvest during the season.
In my place I reach the desired temperatures from early/mid april till late October.
I aim for 18/20 Celsius (64/68F) during the day and not under 13 Celsius(55F) at night time.
I started planting 15 seeds in solo cups in potting mix , then placed the cups in a humidity dome that has a heating mat underneath.
Placed my thermostat at 26/28(72/74F) Celsius and waited.
7 days later 13 of the 15 seeds sprouted and then I selected 5 between the heltiest plant .
I gave them about 18 hours of light and 6 of dark and grew them indoor for about 10 weeks, 10/15 days after sprouting I transplanted in 1.5 liters containers , then into 3.5 liters and then into 6.5 liters and from here I'we waited for decent temperature during the night to transplant in final container.
When temperatures were decent during the day I started the hardening off process, giving them more and more hours of direct sunlight....taking them in when the temperature went under 13(55F) Celsius at night....
In early May I transplanted them in final containers and leave them outdoor permanently.....
I used a light mix and waited that the plant show signs of hunger so I started to feed them with an organic fertilizer 2 times a week.
I had no pest problems except for Asian Stink bugs....I removed them manually(killing them with no mercy) sprayed with potassium soap.....and in the end I l've sprayed white clay to prevent those MF to bite my peppers.
I think I've said everything.....if you want to know anything else feel free to ask...
The peppers are
1 Carolina Reaper
1 Red Habanero
1 Trinidad Scorpion Chocolate
1 Big Red Mama
1 Leviathan Gnarly Scorpion
Have a nice day everyone
