You have aphids...I would try one of  the following...I would put a piece of plastic over the soil so that they don't end
up in the soil..then you will be forever with them..

Getting rid of aphids.....they are a PITN.

Try spraying cold water on the leaves; sometimes all aphids need is a cool blast to dislodge them.
If you have a large aphid invasion, dust plants with flour. It constipates the pests.
Neem oil, insecticidal soaps, and horticultural oils are effective against aphids. Be sure to follow the application instructions provided on the packaging.
Spraying the leaves of the plant with a mild solution of water and a few drops of dish soap. Soapy water should be reapplied every 2-3 days for 2 weeks.
One variation of this soap-water mix includes cayenne pepper: Stir together 1 quart water, 1 tsp liquid dish soap, and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Do not dilute before spraying on plants.
Diatomaceous earth (DE) is a non-toxic, organic material that will kill aphids. Do not apply DE when plants are in bloom; it is harmful to pollinators, too.
I love DE...it works for me all the time...I use a sml paint brush & apply it ..it won't hurt your Plant.

Keep an eye on your plants..aphids love to hide & multiply by the 100's & then some  in a matter of hours.Good LUCK. ;)

Last year I was sold this for adult plants by the local agri supply store . Good or bad ?

Aphids as previously stated. Struggling with them since October of last year and only now seem to have got them under control. One or two still pop up and get crushed real fast! Lost an amazing chocolate habanero plant to them!
My method of choice to control them is;
1 - Crush as many as you can for starters.
2 - 350ml water, 3ml Dawn original (blue not concentrated), and 3ml need oil. Shake vigorously and apply via spray bottle every three days. Your trying to break the life cycle of these little critters by doing so. Best time to spray is sundown or before your grow lights are turned off - as with exposure to light you plants will get damaged.
3 - Add permethrine including solution to you mixture if you so desire (in very minute amounts).
4 - Avoid feeding the plants for the first month of treatment.

Good luck

+1.

Having tried the chemical solution a when I had an aphid infestation a couple years ago, which failed, the ladybugs wiped out the little monsters in a couple weeks.

My opinion is it's bad. Sure, it'll kill your aphids, and maybe your cat, as well as your fish. It contains permrthrin, which the EPA classifies as as a likely human carcinogen. Not to be confused with pyrethrin, which is considered organic and is lethal to aphids.

Personally, I do what wiriwiri outlined above, except for the flour thing. Haven't heard of that one!

Excellent advice by all. All suggestions above have been effective. Good luck with it.

Where did your aphids come from? You have overwintered plants too?

I am knocking on wood as we speak, but I haven't had any pests, last year or this year.

Yes, we have decided we will never bring in over winter plants again .

In Canada neem oil is illegal for use in agricultural applications. But you can still legally get it for skin care applications. Just order it from Amazon and you'll have no issues importing it!

Aye good add up above...can get it all over the internet very easily

The one NECm listed I have had in my Amazon cart for like 4 months now, just waiting till I needed it
