Menards 1020 trays and coir bricks

My local Menards has 1020 trays for .99 and coco coir bricks from burpee 2 for 4.00

I think I saw that the sale was going on till the 22nd or 23rd.

I paid 1.50 a piece for trays at Greenhouse Megastore. And I just bought the coir from Menards for 2.97 a piece the other day.

Figured I should let you guys know.
 
They have some Heavy duty 1020 trays at Lowes currently for under 2$ each. They are worth the investment, IMO. I hate when you pull a tray and it bends.. These aren't the super heavy duty ones, but nice compared to the flimsy ones at Menards. Can't wait til they put the ProMix on sale somewhere..

I looked at those trays at Lowes and they are good quality. I quit buying cheap trays about 3 years ago when I finally got sick of finding I had a leaker in the grow room. I probably have about 100 cheap leaky trays with pinholes or cracks and have not found a cost effective way to fix them.

Menards sell the Promix cheap. They have smaller bales for about $14 for all purpose and bags of potting mix for about $6. I use the bags for seedlings
 
The all purpose isnt too bad with additional amendments like pine fines or more perlite.

The Ultimate Organic potting mix seemed ok alone just for seedlings. I used it last year with no issues and great success

Same! And often getting a pinhole from it bending while carrying it. I've been curious about the quality of the ones GSC sells on their site. I had brand new trays from Menards that had holes in the corners.. Now I hold them all up to the light and take a good scan before I buy any.

Looks like the green label is on sale right now.. I may have to stop by there. That's where I usually get it too.
This is my first year using this stuff.
Though I will add that I'm still waiting for most of the ones I tried to germinate with just this.. Whereas the ones I had this as the layer underneath with the Burpee seed starter about 1/2" on top, had most things hooked in 7 days. They all had a 30hr presoak in chamomile tea.
I plan to use this as kind of an inoculant for other soils I use in my plantings, as well as a stand alone. 
 
I got the 2 cuft bales on sale last year for around $11 each but IMO it really needs some aged pine bark fines. Then its similar to Promix BRK which is crazy expensive here. When you mix in about 35-40% pine bark it brings the cost way down compared to the BRK. Good potting mix for outside if you get lots of rain.
