So i ran outa soil while potting up some seedlings and came up with this homemade option LOL i don't even know what's going to happen here.

If I am seeing that correctly it looks like you need to push the tube deeper. Try to get the air right down to the bottom to keep the water well agitated. Alternatively you could just shake the jug twice a day. You could also leave a hyperdermic needle stuck in there and syringe in the nutes. The needle would also allow free gas exchange to the air gap.

haha cool, might want to block the light to encourage root growth and stop algae though but it'll work alright.

Nice! Saw your post and it gave me a idea for one of my plants I was gonna toss... only mine might be more ghetto

Update 07-12-14

Haven't changed the water in a week, still looking good no algae to speak off. Looks alright in my books ! wrapped the jug in tin foil, made some holes near the top and cut 2/3 into the top of the jug to "peel" it back so when i do change the water i don't have to take the plant out i can just pop the "lid" and drain the water and fill it from there.

Ghetto at it's best.
Did similar a while back, and used a black garbage bag inserted into the container to block light.
Couldn't see the roots very well though, except when changing fluid.
