fermenting Mr. Mash how did you get out

A question you dont normally want to ask your ferment.  My 2 day old 1/2 gallon ferment using a rubber stopper decided to push the stopper partially out of the jug.  The shelf above it in the pantry kept the stopper and airlock from coming out but mash did seep out, now I know why I saw pics of them in tubs. Nothing made its way back into the jug and the stopper only came out far enough to allow mash to squeeze out and down the side of the jug.  I did have to remove the stopper/airlock and I install a sanitized setup.  Should I top off with brine or just leave it be, obviously the Lacto is doing its thing.  I did use a starter on this one.
