Mulching for Potted Chiles

Yeah, mulch is a covering used to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Your want your plants to consume the moisture and not have the soil lose it to evaporation. The plants will use and dry the soil between watering quickly enough once they get some size.

Well I bought some pink bark nuggets for mulch. I'm doing this for cooling reasons mainly.

Yep, it can help with that too until your plants are large enough to provide shade.

Thats one of my big interests too, for next spring anyways. Anything that may help against aphids, I'll try

i've also seen a guy use mylar film as mulch on his plants. looks like it's working pretty well. he lives in nevada.
