My First Experiance with a Hottie

Ok, so due to the gererosity of Datil Patch i received my first Bhut(along with zimbobwe birdseye). So last night we host a bhut tasting. Picture this, three couples sitting at the kitchen table i have the peppers, a cutting board a half gallon of milk(skim, not whole), sugar bowl, bread and 4 containers of low fat peach yogurt. This is at the ready in case we need relief. i know whole milk with the fat is better but the entire apt house is on a diet. i cut one pepper in half remove the seeds(place on paper plate) . i now cut the pepper into eighths . My old lady is doing her Peg Bundy routine smoking a cigarette telling me if i need an ambulance i have to call it myself. she doesnt want to hear any crying or moaning. Im first i lick the knife. hey not too bad hot but certainly im able to handle it. So the 3 men of the group and one gal take this dime size piece and we chew. One guy 71 years old runs to the sink spits it out, the remaining 3 we chew and swallow. Everything after that is a blur. i see in slow motion the yogurt being consumed. the milk is flowing, etc. the old lady is yapping some profanities about my dying on her and leaving her broke without my pension. not only is my mouth, lips throat burning, i discover i have some issues with my cuticles on my fingers burning. after about 20 minutes the sweat has stopped. the frozen margheritas are flowing , we take the remaining half of bhut and chop it up into a large amount of salsa. let me tell you, this was the most fun this bunch of seniors have had in years. we laughed like hell, ate chips, drank some adult beverages , told stories, and since i have 2 more left we trying to figure out or next course of action. Man, i want to thank Datil Patch again, this site is the best.

Sounds like a great time, great to eat them with friends.
That's what I love about chillies, such punishment they dish out, but we seem to want to relive it again and again for kicks as it's both pleasure and pain and then a nice warm glowing feeling afterwards (edit: if you don't over do it that is).

Great story old man! You are on your way to getting the senior community hooked on a legal "drug".

Good times.

My first experience with a superhot pepper was with a Butch T. Scorpion. I thought I'd play it safe and just eat the tail sticking out the bottom--BIG mistake number 1. The heat and the pain exploded in my mouth at the same time and I panicked and swallowed it instead of spitting it out--BIG mistake number 2. When it hit my stomach the pain and heat exploded again and caused such a pain in my chest that I thought I was having a heart attack and might die. But, then a rush of endorphins flooded my body and things weren't so bad.

I've since learned to eat these peppers from the outside in, but I do enjoy eating them.

Be Blessed,

Alan

that sounds like a good time had by all and a time to remember! I hope my first superhot experience makes as good a story as yours.

I try to convince all my friends to try a hot pepper. Hell, I've been known to blab to strangers about them and if I don't have a fresh pod on me I always have Naga powder on me for "emergency" use. My girlfriend says I talk about peppers "a lot", but she also said "thanks" after I got her to eat her first dried Bhut pod. While she normally grows squash, tomatoes, potatoes, corn, etc. this year she grew several kinds of peppers including Bhut Jolokia and Caribbean Red habaneros. She's gone pepper crazy and probably has at least 30 different kinds of hot sauce ranging from that Tapatio crap up to 100% Pain and Dave's Ultimate Insanity. She seems fondest of Scotch Bonnet based sauces though, but I won't hold that against her lol.

Regardless of whatever pain, drooling, upset stomach, sweating, crying, and/or vomiting occurs it's always a good time gulping down peppers with friends. Not once has a day or evening of burning our faces off not ended in giddy laughter. Peppers are amazing.
