It must love our soil here. This plant loved being in a container but I think it likes it better in the ground.

Very nice plant you have there. I havent grown them in a few years. My mistake year one was to plant 3. They got over 8ft tall and produced like crazy!! When the heat of the summer came it seemed as they got hotter. 
 
I will be growing one of those next year for sure. I'm growing a tepin from Texas this year. My neighbor got the seed from his Father from a wild plant.
