seeds My Jalapeno seedlings are dying!

So I'm able to germinate jalapenos seeds...but once they get two true leaves, the leaves fall off and the plant, well dies!

I germinate them in egg shells and once they get two true leaves, I transplant them into newspaper paper pots.

What am I doing wrong? I do the same to my habaneros, and while some die as well, I was able to get two going! :(

Need more info for what you are using:

"Pictures would be nice"
"What type and or brand of Soil"
"If you are using Plant Food what type or brand and balance of plant food (10-10-10) if you have the info"
"If you are using Plant Food are you using 1/4, 1/2, or Full Strength"
"What kind of lighting are you using"

Sorry, I have nothing to add to help you--but you germinate and start growing your seedlings in egg shells? I never heard of that. Sounds like an interesting idea though.

kababayan,

did you put holes at the bottom of the eggshells?

when you transplanted your seedlings, did you remove them from the shells?

what growing medium are you using?

sounds like damping off to me just from your description...that means you have bacteria/fungus in your soil...

pictures sure would help...maybe..

Ya, it sounds like too much moisture and/or poor drainage causing fungal issues and the newspaper pots probably aren't helping things
