My Overwinter Room

I'm in Sweden, the outdoor grow season is fairly short and unpredictable. I mostly plant in pots so I can move them to the greenhouse, outdoors or into the house all depending on the weather. I was going to choose my best potted plants from this year and over winter them but when it came to it I decided they are all my best plants. So I now have a room in the house with 30 plants over wintering. They only receive natural sunlight and a little bit of light from the house lights. It rarely gets above 0C outside over winter and the days are very short, but everything is doing well. Apart from a piri piri that's about to enter its 3rd year everything was started from seed at the beginning of this year. The amount each plant was (or in some cases wasn't) cut back was done just so I could fit them in the room next to windows, some I could keep without trimming anything off, others had a few branches removed, and a few had to be reduced to just the main stem. As I said above everything is happy and they have all have new growth. They have been in the house since around mid September when the first frosts came.

This won't be a grow long but I will keep it updated

I started potting up the cuttings today, the 3 on the left are carolina reapers, the 3 in the right are bbg peach ghosts. They have gone into 10L pots with a homemade organic soil mix. I have another 20 or so to pot up, then I have all the over wintering plants (around 30 of them) to repot in fresh soil for the new season.

Sorry for the small photo size, I had to make it really small as I've nearly run out up upload space on this site

I haven't updated for a while, this should really be my last update as winter is over and spring is here making the overwinter room the growroom/nursery

I cut all plants back a few weeks ago and last week repotted them in a fresh mix, I had to give the root balls a trim as they filled the pots, I removed as much of the old grow medium as possible and replaced with new,  I'm glad to report that the plants have finally started to settle into there new mix and are just starting to come back to life.

Of the cuttings I took in January they all grew tonight and bushy, I gave a fresh away and sold the rest locally. With the money from the cuttings I brought some timber and corrugated roof panels and built a big deep grow bed.

As well as the over winter plants I also started a few seeds which I have under lights in the garage and also in the natural sunlight with the over wintered plants.
