video My Super Hot Pepper Video Series

I actually have a couple more that I haven't shared. I've been slacking a little bit on the videos, but I'll upload two now. I want to say I'm on day 133 or somewhere around there. The plants are indeed showing some sign of color now!

Check them out! I'll have a few more videos to share in the next couple days too.

Can anyone help explain to me why sometimes it posts my links as embedded videos, and other times it refuses to do that? Thanks!

great video, ive been watching since you posted them lol, is that yellow moruga scorpion or just yellow scorpion, was wondering cause the ones i seen have little scorpion tails is all

That's actually a really good question. I'm not entirely sure. To make things even more confusing, those plants are starting to turn colors, and they aren't turning yellow! More of an orange color.

I got the seeds from DonLava, he was kind enough to hook me up with a starter kid. What the bag said was Morouga Yellow. I sometimes refer to it as a Yellow Trinidad Scorpion, or a Yellow Morouga Scorpion in my videos.

I'm wondering if perhaps there could have been cross pollination. I'm not sure where DonLava got his seeds from. I never really asked.

One thing is for sure, as they continue to grow, I'll get a lot of closer images of them, and those of you more familiar with the varieties can tell me what you think.

I'm far from an expert myself. I did find a site that seems to be a really good resource though. This image looks close to what I have seen, on my plants, I still can't explain the orange/red color instead of yellow though! Unless some peppers actually turn darker before the mature to a lighter color.

It's a decent series, but not very informative or entertaining

my favorite pepper series on youtube is this guy, since he has a lot of tips and explains everything about each stage of his grow over a year, then goes over how to make powder out of his crop

I've watched all of this guys videos. I agree, this guy has a lot of tips....maybe not so much for the experienced grower, but for someone like me who is completely new to growing peppers, his vids have been helpful and motivational. Although he goes into a Christian-bashing rant in nearly all his vids, which I find really unnecessary and nothing to do with peppers. Other than that, the vids have helped me a ton.

What the fuck are you feeding these things?!?

I realize you have a background in horticulture, but your plants are more successful and prolific at this nascent stage then a lot of plants from seasoned growers (including myself).

Last season, I had some Butch T's that were very successful vegetively speaking, but didn't produce a lot of fruit either.  It could have something to do with your seed source, or perhaps you need to be a little more patient.

In my opinion, once the entire fruit has ripened, you are good to go with plucking it.  No need to rush it; however, as clearly you are going to have several bountiful harvests and plenty of super hot pods to graze upon.

I do think from the morphology of some your pods that you might have several mis-identified plants.  Again, no worries though.. you're definitely going to have plenty of piquant pods to keep you satisfied.

I live in between Grand Rapids and Holland, MI Bigslimm.

I agree HwyBill, I believe some of my peppers may be misidentified. I am assuming they are probably half right, with a cross pollination that could have occurred. It's been fun growing them regardless of what they are.

I'll get that stats off the bag of fertilizer we use. I know its probably not an over the counter type product. I'm pretty sure my boss buys it in bulk from a farmer co-op. It gets injected into pond water. They get a drink of that every 3 days or so.

I'm not sure what size pots they are exactly. Some are probably 12-14", the others are probably 14-16".

When I'm at work tomorrow, I will try to remember and check.

They went from tissue paper and ziplock, to 50 cell trays, to a 12 cell flat, into those massive pots. I would have used all of the larger size if I could have found enough. It's work stuff though, so I didn't want to snag all the pots they are trying to sell.

I just started a second set of videos. Haven't decided If I should just post them here are start another thread... I have a ton more varieties growing.

Meh... Might as well.

lol how fast your peppers grow and how nice makes me think mine are so far behind lol, then again mine are at 60 days and about 14-18" so i guess its not to bad lol

You're still doing good! If it makes you feel any better the second batch I started are behind you by about 35 days. So I'll be jealous of yours for a while too. :)
