My white sauce was nasty!

Yep don't add anymore flour to it after you have added milk. Sometimes I do but I do a tiny little bit at a time and really whisk it through (but really you shouldn't). If it is lumpy you could try bringing it up to a boil again.

Also you could make up a cornflour paste and then add that to the mixture after though.
With the garlic cook it out with the butter first or it does taste too strong.

By the way its good to see all the men out there giving cooking advice :)
