Any ideas what it is supposed to be ie what seed you put down, what plant you brought etc??

To me it looks like a Brazilian starfish chilli/pepper. That would be my first and best guess

They are. The Caribbean runs from Cuba to Aruba and has more pepper types than Krapital Hell has liars. :

They really shouldn't be calling it a C. chinense.
Mushroom/squash type peppers like this are C. annuum but often mislabelled as Scotch bonnets

Leaves sure look like annums. Starfish are baccatums, with the big round baccatum leaves.
