lighting New fixture

Well, an old fixture reconfigured.

I had an old 6 lamp T5HO highbay I scavenged from a warehouse retrofit job back in 2019. It has been lounging in my basement since and I finally got around to converting it to a 12 lamp fixture.

Found some twin T5HO tombstones on Amazon, bought three 4 lamp ballasts, did a little Dremel work on the tombstone mounting plate, and:

I will get it hung up tomorrow and do a Photone test on it.

Thanks for looking.

OK, took reading with Photone app. Using Fluorescent Daylight setting.

12 inches down, centered.

The app is NOT calibrated for the higher frequency wavelengths (UV, 420nm, 460nm) lamps.

A lamps:
PPFD = 247
DLI = 14.3 @ 16 HOURS
LUMINOSITY = 16000 LUX
CCT = 5150

A + B lamps:
PPFD = 390
DLI = 22.4 @ 16 HOURS
LUMINOSITY = 25100 LUX
CCT = 11900

B lamps:
PPFD = 142
DLI = 8.15 @ 16 HOURS
LUMINOSITY = 9200 LUX
CCT = >12000

C lamps:
PPFD = 70
DLI = 3.95 @ 16 HOURS
LUMINOSITY = 4400 LUX
CCT = 10200

ALL lamps:
PPFD = 437
DLI = 25.2 @ 16 HOURS
LUMINOSITY = 28100 LUX
CCT = 10900

Frankly, I am somewhat disappointed with the intensity. However, I do have 6400K LED tubes I can swap in to increase that.

Overall, the project was a success, and less than half the cost of a new 12 lamp fixture.
