New meat from Kentucky

Hi pepper people. I like to grow veggies, flowers, pickle, can, make salsa. I have a small farm, Irish Dexter cattle, chickens, 3 dogs, 1/4 acre market garden this year. I harvested 3500 bulbs of garlic, 14 varieties this past June for sale, eating and replanting. Fed licensed firearms dealer, gunsmith, farmer, knifemaker. I brew beer, wine. Just love to cook, and eat.

4 jars of mash today, habs, jalas and hot cherries all separate. I'll be doing some red and purple "explosive embers" next and have lots of seeds.

Glad to be here, I lurked long enough. Read many fine threads. See you in the forums.

Sounds like you have a going concern there!

Thanks everyone.

Yes I get to sleep in the winter  It's easier now. GF moved in with me and helps alot. If the roosters don't scare her off. Cattle aren't much problem and help fertilize too. The gardens take up most the time, watering, weeding, picking, preserving. GF picked about 10# peppers today, have to do something with them.

Garlic? Second year growing. It's easy enough. Weeding is a pita though. Plant it Oct-Nov, harvest June or July depending on weather. Don't leave it too long. The leaves can't dry out like an onion. You want several green leaves when you dig it up. Green leaves correspond to the number of layers of paper on the bulb which protects it. I sell both planting and eating garlic, some seed catalogs have it, ebay sellers too. This will be my 3rd garlic year.

Here's a pretty informative link.
