Hi there, my name is Ilya, and I'm from New York state. Originally from the Ukraine.
 
I'm fairly new to hot peppers. I got myself Brain Strain red, Peter pepper, Orange Teapot, Uyababa seeds from a trusted source, and some other seeds from not-so-trusted sources (eBay, I'm looking at you)  :shocked: .
 
Therefore, I'm looking into expanding my knowledge on how to grow these hot peppers via this forum.
 
The hottest pepper I've eaten to this date is the Habanero, which is so for most novices, I assume.
 
Funny story, I bought some Carolina Reaper, Scorpion Moruga, and Bhut Jolokia seeds on eBay, and I ate a few of those seeds, and they were barely spicy. Tasted more like a Jalapeno seed to me.. Must be fake seeds, or I'm just a noob and inexperienced in these things.
 
:welcome: Ilya.  The seeds are not the spicy part of the pepper. The heat is Capsaicin concentrated in the inner rib of the chili pepper.  Good luck with your grow.
 
:welcome:  to the THP forums from SC! You certainly found the best place to expand your knowledge for all things pepper related! Orange Habanero's were many peoples initial pepper that sparked that 'something' that put their feet firmly on the 'fiery pepper path'... and the rest is history (was for me!). Don't be surprised if you find yourself becoming addicted- either to the growing, cooking/eating, or just admiring/collecting of different varieties! All chileheads can relate! Lol.  
 
Really cool your originally from the Ukraine- I very much would love to go and visit the caves at Kiev Pechersk Lavra. Best of growing this season!!  :cool:
