new pepper grower in NorCal

Hellow everyone! Greetings from Northern Califormia!

I've been doing some research on how to grow peppers and start from seed and I always seemed to end up back here. I've got a 4' heat mat on a table in my garage and a 2'x4' T5 fluorescent above that. I just started my seeds in red cups, and I've got

Red/orange/yellow Scotch Bonnet
Chocolate Bhutlah
Cayenne
Jalapeño
Poblano
Red Moruga
DEFCON 7
Yellow bubblegum 7 pot

Also have some shishito, cascabel, Bahamian goat, and Reaper seeds on the way, so I guess you could say I'm diving in head first!

I'm really excited to be apart of the community and learn along the way.

It looks like you are going into this full force with some really nice varieties. Take a look at some of the Baccutum varieties as they have some great flavor and are prolific. I'm originally from the East Bay- Hayward(60-99) and moved to the Central Valley in 99.

:welcome:  to the THP forums!! Sounds like your off to a great start! Lots of info throughout the forums to help you along the path to harvesting lots of peppers!   :P  Best of growing this season!

Thanks everyone. I am also very much into cooking, specifically with my Weber kettles. I have designs on huge batches of homemade smoked chile salt from homegrown peppers!

Also, how do you post pictures? Is it done through a photo sharing service like photobucket? I'll get some pictures of my setup soon in the appropriate forum. I'm debating switching my 4 bulb T5 (which I already had) out for a 6 or 8 bulb but want to see how this goes first. The fluorescent systems are much cheaper than I expected.
