I got a new T5 light with 4 two foot bulbs how close should it be to my new seedling?

How many watts are the bulbs? If they are 54w per bulb then they need to be farther away.

My little 18 inch sunblaster t5 gets pretty warm. I wouldn't go any closer than 5-6 inches. I know some guys use t8 lights and cfl rigs, that let the plants touch bulb. T5's just get to hot for that.

My 2 foot T-5 HO dual bulb setup is never any closer than 10". It has some radiant heat. Kind of like when you walk in front of a plasma TV.

My T5HO's----4 inch minimum. Much beyond a foot they get leggy.
I try to keep my seedlings 6 to 12 inces away, much less or more doesn't seem to work well with a table full of pots. Can't really get a perfect set growing a large variety of types---some grow faster, some slower.
