hydroponic New to hydroponics, need help

I just started 2 5gal dwc plants, one jolokia and a 7pot. I bought them from a nursery online and transplanted them to the buckets 12 days ago. Ph is around 6 and tds measures around 600ppm. I'm using maxibloom nutes. My question is, should I be seeing roots from the bottom yet? The plants look fine, and I'm moving them inside at night because temps are occasionally dropping below 50. If I keep them in direct sunlight for 30 min to an hour the leaves start to wilt and I'm trying to keep from stressing them too much. Will this get better as the root system develops? Any input or advice is greatly appreciated.

how high is your water level? you are going to have them outdoor? if so make sure to keep an eye on the water temps(if they get above 80F for too long you might develope root rot) and so you know 50 is fine to keep a plant outdoors, its when you get into freezing you need to worry.

Bloom ferts on young plants????

I would go with a grow mix till they get developed roots at least.

If you haven't hardened them off in mild sun and shade for a while, they will wilt and burn.

Even when hardened, my supers last year would droop during the heat of the day, and bounce right back when it cooled off or the sun moved and they were in partial shade.

In the greenhouse, mine get to the mid 40's/50's without much trouble.

Checking tonight---52.

Thanks for the replies. Water level is right at the bottom of the net pots. I had read that a few peope had sucess using maxibloom only and not using grow. Yes, they are gong outside. I may dig a hole for them to keep the temps down.

i grew some monsters last year, and all i used was flora nova bloom and aqua shield. when the plants were young i would take a cup and scoop some res water out and pour it over the root area. outdoor hydro is tricky. in the middle of summer i was keeping 3 gallons of water in the fridge to add to the res as they were drinking a gallon+ each day and to lower the water temps. good luck
