New to the Hot Portugal

I have a Hot Portugal with several big green peppers. How long before they turn red,and can they be picked green?

I grew portugals a few years back. I found it very tasty but I'm bias since I love cayanne's. thy taste best when they redden up and they ripen in three months.

Really? I don't  think it would take THAT long for them to ripen.

my scorpians seem to go from green to red in less than a week! not sure about portugals! I do know that bottlers in st augustine dont care what color the scorpians are--more interested in size.
