This might not be any great insight to all you pepper growin` pros out there, but I noticed that out of all the seeds I've started this year, new fresh seeds sprout much much much (!!!) faster than older seeds.
And frankly, seeds I have picked out of peppers myself, dried myself, tend to pop up within days at near 100%, while seeds that I've got in trades, often struggle and sometimes don't grow at all.
My point in saying this, is that maybe we should start keeping track of the date on seeds, and when we trade (or sell) to THP members, we should inform each other how old the seeds are. For example: Bhut Jolokia (2011), or NuMex Big Jim (2009).
Just a thought!
