Found this nice looking Peño with a stinger at Central Market. I'm sure everyone sees these all the time, but it was my first. It was good. I actually went to get some Fresnos, but they were out. Behold the mighty pepper:

save the seed you might get stingers on the pod :) grow it out and choose the pods with stingers and you have your own little mutation :)

Wonder what it would have looked like if left to ripen on the plant in the sun.

You know, I really thought I'd post that picture and 20 people would say they had one exactly like it in there generic bag of peppers from the grocery store. I took that picture and grilled it and ate it in my belly the same night. What a dolt. I suppose live and learn.
 
It'd probably be hard to get it to produce tails through selection. Hopefully that is much consolation.
 
Well it was a really good pepper too. The whole bag of peppers was tremendously tasty. A good shipment came in apparently. So it wasn't a total loss. I just figure next time I see something cool, don't take it for granted and save some seeds for the hell of it.
