nice :) I'm, at this very moment, trying to sprout a 7-pod. Those yellow pubes look nice too  not to mention the scorps.

My Rocoto's are @ the same size as yours. I suspect they'll be ripening before long. I'm in no big hurry although I'm very eager to see how they taste. Been patiently waiting all season. I guess the longer the wait, the sweeter the reward :woohoo: ;)

Can't wait to taste the rocotos for first time. Mine is still refusing to pod so yours is doing much better hehe You're sure more experienced at growing peppers than me :)

Have you tasted both Red rocotos and yellow, are they the same in texture/taste?

Sure would love to see more plant pics, keep posting when you got time! Anyway an old thread, hope you make a glog for this year :)

the truth is the peppers do all the heavy lifting please see smokemaster or zanderspice
growing pictures for the really successful pube growers

Picture019-1-1.jpg

me i am spoiled; the spanish supermarkets carry pubes at ±$5.99 a pound and usually have them all the time
i still like to try to grow them ( even though i can almost always buy them )

Picture062-1.jpg

there is a bit of damage here on this rocoto

Picture055-1.jpg

warning the following pictures may be viewed as DISTASTEFUL by some

Only peppers available fresh here in stores are red habanero and some cayenne hybrid, very mild.

Rain sure brings nasty creatures to life like slugs.

You go under three different names, smokemaster or zanderspice are other accounts you have?

"You go under three different names, smokemaster or zanderspice are other accounts you have?"

NO

these other two growers have much better skills growing the pubes and much better grow facilities and variety

than i do.

"Have you tasted both Red rocotos and yellow, are they the same in texture/taste?"

texture is same for all
find the reds to be a little milder,

yellows and oranges can come with some bad ass creeper heat

the core between the seeds and the stem is where it is 'at'

good growing

http://thehotpepper.com/topic/19643-i-am-in-love-with-rocotos/

the pubes are one groovy pepper and i only try to promote their growing

it is a continuous learn to grow as you go
