Don't get me wrong, I think it's decent films of people going on long walks (although I can't stand the books). It's dressing up and speaking elfin that is just a little to geeky for me (which is odd b/c I've done dress up with Star Trek and Star Wars, and Comic cons)....

Oh, I loved the books. I still go back and reread every now and then.

I think dressing up as any of them outside of halloween, or going to a convention is geeky.
but liking the movies is not geeky.
