Had some extra money and decided to support this site and get a membership. Now its Glog Time. View attachment 9515 This is what I will be growing. I apologize in advance. This is the first time I have done this pictures and posts thing.
Thanks Scott. Taking your advice. Relaxing and icing the ankle. Feeling better. I never give up or slow down. If it's the death of me, so be it. I like tigers balm as well. Good stuff. I think my body needs a break. Don't know how to relax. My relaxation is puttering on things. Yesterday got my 82 Toyota pickup road worthy. Valve adjustment, installed new Weber carb and adjustment, timing. Oh, I also fed the plants and made a gate for my privacy fence. That's good ol relaxation for me. LOLDevv said:Sorry about the ankle!
Wasn't today about fun? It happens every so often, I have 18-19 years on ya, and feel your pain. I refuse to slow down, you just can't. The words of Tom Petty "You never slow down, you never grow old" I live by them! Ice is your friend tonight, stretches and all that when you can. Tiger Balm is a friend of mine too.
In all my years I've sprained the right ankle twice (never let the first heal), and the left once. Both times it was really weird conditions. I think my dogs have helped me strengthen my ankles, they always dig holes, traps I say....and I'm always stepping in them. LOL
Rest up bud and relax tonight.
Thanks Jeff. That creek was from a recent flash flood. It was more like a muddy creek instead of flowing water or I would have been there.HillBilly Jeff said:Buy me a drink, sing me a song, take me as I come cause I can't stay long.......
Sorry about the ankle, hope it is just lightly sprained. 97 degees would have me wading that creek
Thanks Adam. Can't compete with you guys but I try. LOL. I wish I had one of those pods right now. Works better than ibuprofen for me.maximumcapsicum said:Yeah man love the pod pics! Delicious!
Thanks John. The ankle is better today. Still got out hiking, but nothing strenuous. Back home now. Took some pictures. Thought I would share.Sawyer said:Hope your ankle is feeling better today. I'm bummed I'm not going hiking in the Wind River Range this year. I think the highest temperature I've seen there is around 80ºF. It's not unusual for a water bottle to freeze at night. More than once I've been snowed on. In August. Too much to do this year. Maybe next year.
Thanks John. Utah has some of the most beautiful scenery. I want to go to Zion National Forest next.Sawyer said:Beautiful, surreal scenery. Nice pods, too.
Thanks Anthony. The jury isn't out on bonchi contenders. Will wait for for more pods to ripen and see what's worthy. I'm going to try and grow in the ground and raised beds. I'm also going to do SIP's as well. I'm impressed by them. Need to keep some containers just in case ground doesn't work out.beerbreath81 said:Just catching up Chuck,
Been busy over there, sorry bout the ankle hopefully after the rest its feeling better for ya. Im the same way, always going and I feel like I can do anything but at the end of the day my body reminds me otherwise. Great weekend vacation shots and ripe pods too. The overall picture of "The Jungle" is awesome! What plants do you have on your mind for OW and Bonchi? Are you planning an all dirt grow next season?
Cheers!

Bummer about the ankle... have you ever heard about an herbal salve from an alpine plant called Mountain Arnica? I've used it for 25 years with great results on muscle sprains and strains, and bruises. It's pretty strong, and should only be applied topically to unbroken skin and never taken internally.
Take care!
Sorry about not replying. I did reply to you post about the Arnica. It obviously didn't post. Sorry. Thanks for the tip. I've read that the Emt's carry that stuff up in BC. I'm still on the look out for the stuff. Will have to go to a Wholefoods or Sprouts. They have a bunch of natural medicines. The ankle is doing better. This last weekend I did nothing. Mind and body has been fatigued lately.stickman said:How's things goin' for you Chuck? Haven't heard from you in a couple of weeks... I hope the weather hasn't turned for you and frosted your plants. (fingers crossed)
We're down to the 40s here overnight, and will be in the upper 30s by Thursday night.
Glad to hear the SFRB got through OK... what's your take on the Nabascos and King Nagas?
Cheers!
Thanks Scott. Things are seem to be getting better. Job prospect looks promising. He did indeed had a blast. When I dropped him off at his mothers, he said that was the funnest thing he's done and had a great time.Devv said:Sorry to read about family issues, hope it all works out in the best way.
Nice haul on the cukes and Jals, and glad you took your son along! I'm sure he had a blast
Thanks John. I dont know if they sell them outside the farm. I talked to a guy picking, he said he's been going there for ten years. A lot of locals. Thank you for the kind words.Sawyer said:That's a heck of a field of peppers. Where do they usually sell them? Hope you get the family situation straightened out. I think we can all relate at one time or another.
Thanks Anthony. I've been doing some canning. The job seems promising. The down side is its out of town and 6 days a week. Its in the Fort Collins area. Will have to live in a travel trailer through winter. The pay is good though.beerbreath81 said:HELL YA! Thats one hellava score. Will make for a nice stockpile over the winter months. Hopefully the new job works out for you and the family troubles are fading.
Take care over there!
Thanks Rick. Had a great time picking. We picked and my son begged me to show him how to make pickles. I had him make his own jar. He thought that was the greatest. Sorry I havent got back to you on the Naga. Ate a whole one last night. Half raw and the other half in stir fry. That is a great pepper. Just the right heat and nice floral taste. No bitterness at all in the pod I tried. A winner for sure. It reminded me of the Jigsaw. Very enjoyable. Thank you again Rickstickman said:It's nice to be picking bushels of produce isn't it? You're doing your boy a favor too... showing him where food actually comes from and how to put it up.
Have you tried that King Naga pod yet?
