Odd coloring on Bhut pods

I'm new to growing, in fact this is the first year I've gotten plants to fruit. They all seem to be doing pretty well, but now that I've got a few Bhut pods growing, a few of them are getting this coloration on them. Is this ripening, or is it something else? These seeds were purported to be regular ol' Bhut Jolokia, so they should be turning more red or orange, no? This is kinda rust colored. I'm not too worried, but I figured I should consult the Oracles at THP to be on the safe side...

It's a suntan. That's what pods do when they are exposed to the sun. Nothing to be worried about.

Thank you for the reply, now that you mention it, this is on a tiny plant with very little leaf cover, so that makes perfect sense!

Lol. Some of my peppers went through the exact same thing. Still going through it. Be interesting to see how they ripen

Yup, they got a suntan . My Primos got nice suntans, lol.
