Odd pod

I had a straggler pop up from a plant I grew last year. The leavers were a little weird shaped at first and starting fruiting at 4 inches in height. Nothing was really weird except the pod looked like an orange 7 pot but I have never grown any orange peppers. This morning I went to water it and it has some more peppers growing but they were shaped like a jalapeno. Here is a pic from this morning.

Wow, that is interesting.  Time will tell.  Some kind of cross from an earlier life?

I couldn't quite tell from the picture because a leave base obscuring the base, but do you have two stalks growing there?

I'm wondering if it could be two separate plants.
