pod Old pepper seeds and pods

I was with my aunt and we went to a friend of hers house. her friend gave me some pepper seeds and pods she says that she picked these many years ago at her daughters house in southern california these plants had been there for many years and the seeds orginaly can from mexico...
My aunt friend is mexican and these seeds and pods are probaly over 20 years old she does not know they name of these peppers.
I am going to soak them and plant and see if they germinate...

good luck.. i've heard that some old seeds have germinated years latter.. look at what happened a few years ago in death valley... the whole valley bloomed for the first time in decades

well i rethought it and realize they where not corn but either wheat or lotus flower seeds (cant remember), and the point was more to demonstrate that even some seeds that are 3500 years old still sprouted, this story is almost 30+ years old in my mind and actually heard it when i was in middle school (either 7th or 8th grade world history)
