One of these things

One of these things is not like the other (no, it's not my pre-calc book)

I'd like to introduce you to my new addition to my pocket, the pepper pen! It is to be carried with me at school so if someone wishes to try some ghost chili powder (currently filling the pen) they may have some. But it's main purpose is to liven up the drab school lunches! :hell: I filled the empty pen tip with hot glue and hot glued the back plug in. I then heated the paper clip I obtained and shoved it through the plastic and hot glue. I then curled the clip with needle nose pliers and soldered it together. Then I heated it again and turned it around so the soldered overlapped part would be in the hot glue/plastic to give it some strength. I can keep this in my pocket or clip it to my lanyard/keys. The ring also is used as a handle to easily twist open the pen. If you've tried to to open a pen before by hand by simply pulling you'll know you can't very easily if at all. So that is what the ring is for! :D

I can't remember ever having a problem opening a pen by simply pulling on the cap. I must be misunderstanding something. Can you post a picture of how you open it please? Great idea by the way. They do make things like this already though I'm a huge fan of the DIY'er.

But pulling the cap might spew the powder everywhere lol

I guess its the pens I've always tried to open then... Some are easy while some are difficult. I assumed difficult would mean tighter seal. I've always loved anything DIY. Sure I can spend 30 dollars to make something when I can go to the store and buy it for 20 but in this case I made it for free since I had all supplies on hand! But hey, I had fun making it and I get to use it, it's a win win situation for me! :D I was very bored today too so I figured I could work on this to pass some time :)

That's exactly why I made a little ring to twist the cap off instead of pulling with pure force.

A video will be up as soon as it is done uploading!

Added a video of opening it

yeah I know what you mean about pulling out the tip. I think people thought by cap you meant, well the cap. Sweet Idea.

Mine was a mini blow-dart gun
I've made one of those too. I even make them out of paper too when I don't feel like working in physics class, my excuse is I can say it has to do with the gravity, acceleration, etc :D
Thanks for the lesson Bat! You're a genius dude, pure genius. I'm a DIY fan myself.
Haha aaawww thanks  lol. I went through about half the pepper powder in the pen yesterday between my lunch and eating some intermittently between classes. At the moment people at my school are selling suckers for relay for life and my friend bought some and put the powder on them and said it was really good! He's a chile head it seems :fireball:
I should be working on my speech for English class right now...
