I'm at work talking with a good ol' boy who used to do landscaping. He suggested using pine straw (3-4inches deep) to keep weeds out of the garden. I see that pine will make the soil acidic. Would this much pine straw be a problem an if so what would be an alternative?
I plant in raised rows 36" center to center. The pine would go between the rows and up the sides. The top cap would be open.
