overwintering over-wintering indoors, bug remedies

Hello all, I am over -wintering indoors. The plants have started sprouting new growth everywhere. I have noticed that some leaves are being eaten. What would be a safe way to get rid of any bugs? Do you think diatomaceous earth would do the trick?

What kind of bugs, ants, aphaids, mites, ect ect, hard to do with out know what type of bug it is, I dont think diatomaceous earth covers it all

I had good luck with a dry layer of perlite on top of the soil in the container, then lacing that with the DE. My thoughts any bug seeking transit to the soil would be doomed.
