Parsons Potent Chili Penguin Pepper

Lol, thanks Mike...I guess it's just an unstable wild chile, then. Probably it would be well worth spending a few seasons to cultivate it...

Looking forward to your pix...

You talked to Brian lately?

Hey Gary,  Here is a pic of pods from this season.  The top row are from the plant I pictured earlier.  The bottom row are from another plant that do hang pendant but do not exceed jalapeno heat.

Here is a link to last season grow.  Page 7 post #134 bottom two pics.  Pendant pods but also jalapeno like (not hot like Brian's pods were).  Had a few of these that I gave to friends.

I have not talked to Brian since seeing him at a nursery last season.

If you would like help growing out some of your overwintered pods I'd be happy to help.  Chocolate Nagabrain as well!

Have a great day, Mike

Did you ever get pods or seed from this plant? I would be very interested in growing this variety.

Mike, Okay good to know...Thanks for the pix. I feel better about my atypical Pequin pods, now.

Yes, I would love some help stabilizing a few varieties, if you don't mind...There's only so much room in my garden, and only so many years left for me to grow 8 generations of anything! I'll put seeds aside for you and send them all when they're ready...

I'm about to start air-drying another batch of these pods, LD...It will be a few weeks before they're ready. I'll put some aside for you. Just send me your mailing address on the PM.

I agree....The flavor is very similar, too.

The difference between these particular Pequins and my particular Chiltepins is size...The Pequin pods are probably 2 or 3 times larger, and the flesh is quite a bit juicier, almost like Tabasco pods.
